Hi I'm Alison!
I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Maternal & Child Health with a specialization in Human Lactation.
I came to this path in life through my own struggles breastfeeding/pumping for a premature child and then breastfeeding a tongue and lip tied child. I have been on both sides of the fence in breastfeeding both struggling myself and then helping families with their struggles.
I understand breastfeeding is not easy for everyone and work to provide in home individualized care and set plans for each family.
When I am not providing breastfeeding care to families I can be found rocking a mom bun in the drop off line at school and buying everything at Target that I don’t need! I have been happily married to my husband for (almost) 10 years and am mom, or mommy to Ella, 7 and Boden, 1.5.
I look forward to working with you!

Do you have health insurance but I am not in their network?
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) legislation requires coverage of preventive health services for women, including “breastfeeding support, supplies, and counseling." It is further defined as “comprehensive lactation support and counseling, by a trained provider during pregnancy and/or in the postpartum period, and costs for renting breastfeeding equipment.”
All new plans created after the ACA implementation are required by law to cover preventive services in full by insurance providers with no cost-sharing.
This means that even though I may not be IN-NETWORK with your health insurer, per the ACA the health insurer is required by law to cover lactation visits in full with a certified IBCLC. There may be some gray area with each individual health insurer so you may want to touch base with them first.
How do I get my health insurance company to pay for my services?
You will pay out of pocket for the lactation support visit up front and I will provide you with a "Superbill".
A superbill is a form used by providers to itemize procedures and diagnosis so a patient may submit it to their health insurer for reimbursement.
You then submit the superbill to your health insurance provider for reimbursement.
How long will it take for my insurance company to reimburse me?
This is a tricky question as the processing time varies with each insurance company. To make this a little less stressful, I can have my medical biller submit the superbill to your insurance company and work with them to insure you get reimbursed. I will do this at no additional cost to you!
Please keep in mind, we will make every attempt to work with your insurance company on your behalf to get you reimbursed. However, we cannot guarantee you that they will reimburse you as this unfortunately does happen on a rare occasion.
Alison reached out during a time when leaving the house with my newborn to physically go to a lactation consultant appointment seemed nearly impossible. I was recovering from a c section with a week old baby in my arms, my first born, stressed out over my delayed milk supply. Her advice and encouragement made all the difference for us and her continued guidance over the next couple of weeks let us know we were on the right path and doing just fine. Thanks to Alison my stress levels have gone down and my milk supply is up!
I had reached out to Alison about breastfeeding hoping to get information that would better help me once my twins were born. She was so helpful. She put my mind at ease and answered every question with a knowledgeable answer. Whether it was about what bottles were best to choose as a breastfeeding mama, to latching or anything in between. Being a first time expecting parent can feel overwhelming but Alison has never disregarded any question no matter how silly I myself may have thought it to be. She helped ease my mind and I have felt less pressure when approaching breastfeeding because of it!
